Is This the Right Programme for You?

Have you spent years believing you cannot float?

Maybe you avoid the deep end, panic when your feet leave the pool floor, feel uncomfortable putting your face in the water, or tense up whenever you are asked to lie back.

Perhaps you have even tried swimming lessons before but felt rushed, embarrassed or misunderstood.

Fear of water can come from many different triggers, including past experiences, difficulty breathing, discomfort with water on your face or a fear of losing control. It does not mean you are incapable of learning to swim. You may simply need a different way of being taught.

Learn to Float in 2 Hours

specifically designed for

  • Adults with water phobia or no swimming experience
  • Teenagers who may feel uncomfortable joining children's beginner classes
  • Beginners who become anxious around deep water
  • People who need to hold the pool edge or keep their feet on the floor to feel safe
  • People who have tried swimming lessons before but struggled with fear
  • Anyone who wants to begin with one manageable swimming skill

You are not expected to arrive feeling confident. That is what we are here to help you build.

How the 2-Hour Programme Works

The programme consists of two one-hour sessions conducted over one weekend with a structured learning process, water-confidence exercises, assessment and a clear graduation milestone.

Understand your fear. Begin trusting the water.

Trust

Your coach will guide you through:

  • Gentle water acclimation
  • Breath awareness and control
  • Identifying your personal fear trigger
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Supported back-floating exercises
  • Understanding how your body responds in the water

The focus is on helping you feel safer in the water and begin building trust in your coach, your body and the water around you.

Gradually let go. Experience the float.

Proof

Once you have built greater trust, your coach will guide you through:

  • Confidence reinforcement
  • Gradually reducing physical support
  • Independent back-floating practice
  • Survival breathing
  • A 10-second independent back-float assessment

Your graduation target is an independent back float for 10 seconds.

Everyone responds to water differently, so progress is never forced. Your coach will work towards the target while keeping your safety and comfort in mind.

"I think I will sink." → "I floated."

Why Start with a Back Float?

Understand your Natural Buoyancy

Control Your Breathing and Relax

Learn to steady your breath, release tension and feel calmer in the water.

Build Confidence in Deeper Water

Experience floating without touching the bottom, building trust beyond shallow water.

Prepare for Learning swimming Strokes

Develop the confidence and body awareness needed before progressing to swimming strokes.

Why Learn with Swimin12?

Water Phobia Specialists
Swimin12 has identified 16 different root causes of water fear. This helps our coaches look beyond the visible reaction and better understand what may be triggering each student’s fear.
Psychology-Informed Coaching
Swimin12 coaches undergo extensive training in swimming education, communication and student psychology. We do not simply tell you to relax. We help you understand why relaxing may feel difficult—and guide you through the process one step at a time.
Maximum Four Students per Coach
Each coach works with no more than four students during the programme. The small-group format gives you individual attention while allowing you to learn alongside others who may share similar fears.
Established Since 2009
More than 12,000 swimmers have experienced the Swimin12 methodology. You will be learning with an established swim school, trained coaches and a structured teaching system.
One Specific, Measurable Outcome
We are not trying to teach you everything in one weekend. The programme focuses on helping you work towards one important milestone: An independent 10-second back float.

Have Questions? Look Here.

Do I need any swimming experience?
No. This programme is designed for adults and teenagers with no swimming experience, as well as those who are afraid of water.
Is this a trial swimming class?
No. This is a complete two-session weekend intensive with its own learning structure, target outcome, assessment and graduation milestone.
Are there any additional charges?
The programme fee is RM240, excluding SST. Pool entrance charges for both sessions are already included, so there is no separate pool entrance fee.
Are the two hours completed in one session?
No. The programme consists of two separate one-hour sessions conducted over one weekend. Session 1 focuses on trust, water acclimation and supported floating. Session 2 focuses on gradually reducing support and working towards an independent back float.
Will I definitely float independently after two hours?
The programme is structured around the graduation target of an independent 10-second back float. However, fear responses and learning progress differ from person to person. Your coach will work towards the target without compromising your safety or forcing you beyond what you can manage.
What if I am extremely afraid of water?
That is exactly who the programme was created for. Your coach will first help identify what triggers your fear. You will begin with acclimation, breathing and supported exercises before progressing towards an independent float. You will not be thrown into the water or forced to perform an exercise without guidance.
Will I be placed with experienced swimmers?
No. This programme is specifically for fearful beginners and non-swimmers. Each class has a maximum of four students per coach.
Can teenagers join?
Yes. Teenagers aged 13 to 17 may participate, subject to parental or guardian consent.
What should I bring?
Please bring comfortable swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes. A complete preparation list will be provided after your booking is confirmed.
Do I receive the personalised swimming cap automatically?
The personalised KEEP SWIMMING cap is presented to participants who achieve the programme’s graduation milestone.
What happens if I need more time?
Everyone responds to water differently. If you need additional support after the weekend, your coach will discuss your progress and recommend the most suitable next step.
What can I do after completing the programme?
You may continue building your water confidence and swimming ability through one of Swimin12’s beginner or adult swimming programmes. Our team can recommend the right programme based on your assessment and personal goals.
Where is the programme conducted?
The weekend intensive is conducted at MAHSA Avenue KL. Sessions are subject to coach and pool availability.
